Terms of use

These terms govern your access to onehundredquestions.com and related products provided by One Hundred Questions. By using the service you agree to them. They are a practical draft: have them reviewed by counsel before you rely on them commercially. Last updated April 2026.

Eligibility & acceptable use

You must be at least eighteen or the age of majority where you live. You agree not to misuse the service: no harassment, no uploading malware, no attempting to break authentication, no scraping other people’s private answers, and no using the platform to commit fraud or violate someone else’s rights.

Your content stays yours

You retain ownership of the stories, audio, photos, and text you submit. To operate the product, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, transcribe, store, back up, render into PDFs or printed books, and deliver what you asked us to deliver. You can withdraw that license for future uses by deleting your content or closing your account, subject to reasonable technical limits and legal retention duties.

Our IP

The software, branding, question sequencing, and templates belong to us or our licensors. Please do not copy them except as allowed by law or with written permission.

Third-party services

We rely on vendors such as hosting providers, Cloudflare (when R2 is enabled), and OpenAI for speech-to-text. Their terms also apply to the narrow functions they perform for you.

No professional advice

Nothing on the site is legal, medical, financial, or therapeutic advice. The experience is emotional work; seek licensed professionals where you need them.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither One Hundred Questions nor its people will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, or data, arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently the demo may be free, in which case the cap is one hundred dollars unless a paid order says otherwise).

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims that arise from content you submit, violations of these terms, or misuse of another person’s intellectual property.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law rules. You agree that exclusive jurisdiction for disputes not subject to informal resolution lies in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Before filing suit, you agree to email us a short description of the dispute so we can try to resolve it in good faith for thirty days.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend access if we reasonably believe you are harming the service or other people. You may stop using the product at any time.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version here. Material changes will be announced in a sensible way (for example, a notice on the site or an email if we have one on file).
